Tarrerias Bonjean, a cutlery company located in the renowned cutlery region of Thiers, France, has been shaping an exceptional destiny for 13 generations of master cutlers. Since 1580, when Claude Tarrerias, master grinder, appears in the archives of Celles-sur-Durolle, each generation of the Tarrerias family has contributed to strengthening the excellence of the company. Their passion for cutlery is part of their DNA, a legacy passed down from generation to generation.
At Tarrerias Bonjean, we design and manufacture our knives from A to Z. The Durolle, a river crossing Thiers, has seen generations of cutlers perfect this art. As a human-sized SME, we remain committed to a process of continuous improvement. Certified ISO 9001 and 14001, we also integrate environmental concerns into the heart of our production.
Tarrerias Bonjean, in the circle of the Henokiens
We have the great honour of announcing that Tarrerias Bonjean has joined the prestigious circle of Henokiens, an association bringing together family businesses whose history goes back more than two centuries. Founded in 1981, this international association is distinguished by its high standards: only family businesses that are run by the descendants of the founders and that continue to operate from their original headquarters can join. This exclusivity makes it a very restricted club, where sustainability and family transmission occupy a primordial place.

"Family Manufacturing", a new experience based on a concept where transmission and learning through manual work are of great importance, while maintaining a fun goal.

Supplier to the French Army
Tarrerias-Bonjean is recognized for its expertise in all technologies related to cutlery. As a supplier to the French army, it has demonstrated its commitment to producing superior quality knives, adapted to the specific needs of armies in many areas of operations around the world. This expertise is even a "tradition" which has been demonstrated for more than 30 years by the supply of specific knives to the French Army.
"Bivouac®" was provided from 1996 and until its replacement by the "Baroudeur®" model in 2001. In 2018, the "CAC®" model (Combat Assistance Campagne) was added to the standard equipment for soldiers of Land Force. These knives, shaped with precision and mastery, reflect the unique know-how and reputation of TB Outdoor in the cutlery industry that you too can experience on a daily basis.
